Little colourful powerhouses
Berries are rich in anthocyanins and other polyphenols — the pigments that make them red, purple and blue — as well as vitamin C and fibre.
Why eat them
Regular berry eaters show signs of better heart and brain health in many studies. Raspberries and blackberries are among the fruits with the most fibre.
Tips
Frozen berries are picked ripe, cheap all year and just as nutritious — great in porridge and smoothies. Aim for a handful a day.
